The Hunter Research Foundation (HRF) Centre’s assessment of the economic and social impact of the inaugural Newcastle 500 Supercars event was undertaken within the scope and terms of reference provided by the City of Newcastle.

The HRF Centre has been very clear about data sources and how calculations were done. Taking this transparent approach in the report itself allows others to do further ‘parametric’ (or sensitivity) analysis should they so wish.

The methodology that was used by the HRF Centre was approved by the University of Newcastle’s Human Research Ethics committee.
